Ok, so I posted a week or so ago about my cheesy wedding journal (mahspeshulday), but being the LJ retard that I am, I set up the community wrong. I tried to set it up so that only I would post to it (and Heather and Brian if I decide to be nice and let them) but people can still friend it, read it and comment on it. I failyourized! So, I changed some settings and now it should be correct. So, if you aren't seeing those posts on your friends page, then go ahead and friend it now and it should work.

Hiddley ho. I've had lots of weddingish thoughts and stuff lately, so I made a journal for them. Sure, I could be using this one for all of that, but I want to keep this one to my 1 post per 3 month average. Heh. Plus, if you don't want to read about that crap you can easily avoid it! Also, as the new one is technically a community, that means other wedding related people (Brian, Heather) can post too. I'm sure Brian is itching to do just that...

There hasn't been any raisin wisdon in a while because I switched to Dole raisins. Dole claims to be plumper and juicier, and they are. However, they neglected to mention that they taste icky. So, I am back to Sunmaid.

Poor sharks.

I hate people. I really hate these assholes that eat shark fin soup. Delicacy my ass. Do people get off on killing animals and wiping them off the face of the earth? Finning is horrible - these people catch sharks, slice off their fins and throw them back in the water. Still alive but unable to swim, these sharks die a slow, sad and painful death. I'd like to take these people and slice off a leg and leave them to their own devices somewhere remote.

Is it 5:00 yet? I have work I could be doing, but I am saving it for tomorrow.

Luckily tomorrow is half-a-day (like Army, heh), because we are going to Atlanta for DragonCon. Should be a fun, geeky weekend. Also in Atlanta, we are going to the Georgia Aquarium. I am very excited about this. They have the largest water exhibit in the country (6 MILLION gallons of water) which houses hammerhead and whale sharks!! I can't wait to see them!

Picked up Arrested Development season 3 and South Park season 8 DVDs yesterday, both of which are (of course) awesome. And why are there new versions of the LOTR movies out on DVD? Didn't they say they weren't going to release more versions? Jerks. Good thing I'm not a hardcore LOTR fan or I'd be ticked. Granted the Flanneled One releases millions of versions of the Star Wars movies, but that's besides the point. ;)

Oh and the boy and I are engaged.

May 24-30: Trip to Florida to visit my dad and go to Disney World (of course). It turns out Liz will be at Disney at the same time, heh heh. Go figure. I think she is stalking me.

June 9-13: Join the boy in San Diego (he will be at a conference that week) and go to the San Diego Zoo (yay animals!) and then to Disneyland (yay Disneyland!).

August 18: Snakes on a Plane, motherfucker

Labor Day weekend: DragonCon! Ooooh nerds!

Also in September: SW OT Original Cut on DVD. Not a bootleg, for fucking real!

Last four episodes of Arrested Development tonight. Only like two or three people watch it, so those people can click below.

It's a very bittersweet day in the life of 2.5 million Americans. Tonight marks the last episodes of the Best Television Show Ever: 'Arrested Development'. While I am excited to see four new episodes, I am saddened that they are the last four new episodes I will have the pleasure of viewing.

Screw you FOX, for fucking with the time slot and barely promoting the show (and when you did promote it, you did a poor job). Screw you for keeping tripe like 'The War at Home' and 'Stacked'. And while you get a mini-thanks for picking up the third season at all, screw you for burying it on Monday nights. Also, screw you for throwing away the last episodes like they are unwanted garbage against the Olympics. You could at least have given it a proper send-off with the respect it deserves.

Screw you America, for not watching. Screw you for not having the intelligence to grasp the most clever writing on television. Screw you for not having the patience to watch more than 10 minutes before declaring "I don't get it; this sucks." Screw you for watching tripe like 'The War at Home' and 'Stacked'. Screw you for thinking shows like 'Everybody Loves Raymond' are funny. (Incidentally, everybody does NOT love that fuck.)

That's fine. I, along with the 2.5 million minority, will continue to enjoy my DVDs. I will rewatch them endlessly, picking up new things each and every time. I will marvel at the number of times the writers can cross reference jokes from other episodes. I will feel special when I find something funny hidden in the background of a scene. I will laugh as uproariously the 20th time I watch an episode as I did the first time. I will feel special because I am one of the few, one of the 2.5 million, that 'get' the show. And my life is brighter because of it.

Thank you Mitch Hurwitz, for creating something so magnificent, so hilarious, so brilliant. And while I hold on to the hope that maybe, just maybe, the Showtime/ABC rumors turn out to be true, I understand if you don't want to continue. Sometimes enough is enough. I respect your decision and trust that you would do what's right for the show. (Especially if the new station wanted to fuck with the show in any way... Screw that. Better to end it now than to fuck it up.)

Thank you to a wonderful and extremely talented cast. Every single actor (or ac-TORE as Tobias would say) developed a memorable character, and I can't even begin to pick a favorite. I hope you all go on to do things where your talent can be fully appreciated.

And thanks to people in my life who have proven to not be idiots. Everyone to whom Heather and I have introduced the show have loved it. And thanks to Heather, since she and I were the ones that said "Hmmm, let's watch this and see if it's any good."

Sigh. Oh well, at least my Mondays are clear to do other things now.
